Mary Mack

After being upstaged in October by the St. Louis Cardinals, “folk humorist” Mary Mack is making a second attempt at performing in our fair city. A former music teacher who now splits her time between LA and Minneapolis, Mack is a veteran comedian who has appeared on the Bob & Tom Show, the Vancouver Comedy Fest, HBO’s Andy Kaufman Awards and the Just For Laughs Festival. She also made a very notable appearance on Marc Maron‘s popular WTF podcast.

Mack is married to comedian Tim Harmston who has appeared on the Late Show With David Letterman. Harmston, along with comedians Jeremy Essig and Andi Smith, will join Mack at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Too Hip (for a Comedy Club) Hilarious ShowcaseSpectacular at Foam, 3359 S Jefferson Ave.

Kelsey McClure: Your last date in St. Louis fell on the same night as Game 1 of the 2013 World Series. Was its cancellation a direct result of baseball?

Mary Mack: Yes, definitely! If the Twins or Brewers made it to the World Series — please just let me have this dream — I would never go to a comedy show that happened simultaneously.

Comedy duo returns home to St. Louis

St. Louis natives and current Chicago residents Mikey Manker and Kevin White will co-headline our always amazing post-Thanksgiving night of comedy at Foam’s Too Hip (For a Comedy Club) Hilarious Showcase Spectacular.

Come shake off your various hangovers (booze, turkey) at one of the best places to see live comedy in St. Louis.

Note: Our post-Thanksgiving shows have been insanely popular and you’ll never known who might show up since everyone who left town and became huge megastars generally return home for the holidays.

The show’s only $5. There’s no pre-sale and doors open at 8:30 p.m. Join us for the cheapest night of great entertainment you’re going to find in the Greater St. Louis-area.

Mikey’s honest and conversational approach to stand-up, which takes personal tragedies, family dysfunction, substance abuse, sex and other life experiences, has won over audiences across the country and overseas in Singapore.

A veteran of the comedy scene for over a decade, this St Louis native has performed at Zanies Chicago, the prestigious Chicago Underground Comedy, and even opened up his own one man show to rave reviews. In October of 2011, Manker’s debut album “Beg, Borrow, & Steal” cracked the iTunes Top 20 Comedy Albums on its release.

Described by the Chicago Tribune as “a physical expression of an exclamation point”, Kevin White approaches topics like heartbreak, financial woe and fear of the future with a cheerful cynicism and an urgent stage presence. His stand up is personal, engaging and very visual. He also knows how to spell “BOOBS” with a calculator. He’s also one of the founders of the professionally produced sketch show Bareknuckle Comedy.

Too Hip Comedy has been bringing live, touring, professional stand-up comedy to Cherokee Street for two years. It’s one of the premiere, intimate venue shows in St. Louis. The showcase has featured such comics as Ben Kronberg, Nikki Glaser, Sara Schaefer and Eddie Pepitone.
